Slovenia elected Natasa Pirc Musar as the first female President.

  • Natasa Pirc Musar has been elected the country’s first female president, defeating her conservative rival in the second round of elections held in Slovenia on 13th November.
  • Slovenia’s election commission said Pirak Musar won about 54% of the vote, ahead of Mr Logar, who got just over 46% of the vote. Turnout was 49.9% among a population of about 2 million.
  • Ms. Natasa Pirk Musar is a journalist and lawyer who ran as an independent with the support of Slovenia’s centre-left government. He defeated Ange Logger, former foreign minister and a veteran of conservative politics.
