The inaugural edition of India-Egypt joint training exercise Cyclone-I began in Rajasthan.

  • “Exercise Cyclone-I” between the armies of India and Egypt is underway from 14 January 2023 at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
  • This military exercise will last for 14 days and it is being conducted in the deserts of Rajasthan.
  • This military exercise is the first ever joint exercise between the armies of the two countries. Its goal is to promote defense cooperation between the two countries.
  • The advanced special forces of both countries will share skills such as sniping, combat-free fall, reconnaissance, surveillance, target acquisition and exchange of information on weapons, equipment, innovations, techniques, strategies and procedures.
  • Participating personnel will also practice joint planning, battlefield combat, surgical strikes on terrorist hideouts/camps and sniper-shooting at large targets.
