- On 12 December 2022 University Grants Commission (UGC) release Curriculum and Credit Framework for Undergraduate Programmes, accordance with National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
- The UGC also announced the structure of Four Year Undergraduate Programs (FYUP).
- Under the new FYUP framework, the UGC curriculum and credit framework states that students will also be given multiple options with exit options, flexible options, single or dual degrees.
- In all the programmes, opportunity will be given to choose the program or course of your interest. Also multiple entry and exit options will be provided with UG Certificate/ UG Diploma/ or Degree based on credit score.
- Now students will have option when and how to switch to hybrid mode of education offline, ODL and online learning want to do.
- As per the new schedule, students will be able to pursue only a four-year honors degree instead of a three-year course as in the current system. Honors degrees will also be done in two categories – first Honors and second Honors with Research.
- The new order issued by the UGC states that a four-year UG Honors degree will be awarded to students who complete a four-year degree program with 160 credit scores and fulfill the credit requirement.
