Ulf Christerson elected as the new Prime Minister of Sweden.

  • Sweden’s parliament elected moderate leader Ulf Christerson as the country’s new prime minister.
  • A total of 176 members of the Riksdag voted in favor of Christerson, while 173 members voted against him.
  • The new government plans to cut taxes, start the process of building new nuclear power plants, cap benefits, tighten immigration rules and give more powers to the police as part of a policy agreement with the Sweden Democrats.
