Veer Bal Diwas 2022 : 26th December

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced to celebrate Veer Bal Diwas 2022 on the occasion of Prakash Parv of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
  • Veer Bal Diwas is going to be celebrated in India every year on 26th December. Veer Bal Diwas 2022 marks the martyrdom of Sri Guru Gobind Singh’s sons Sahibzada Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji.
  • The Veer Bal Diwas program has been organized to make the country and the world aware of the story of exemplary courage of the sons of the last Sikh Guru Gobind Singh.
  • In fact, on January 9 this year, on the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh, Prime Minister Modi had announced that December 26 would be celebrated as ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ to mark the martyrdom of the four Sahibzade Khalsa of the Sikh Guru.

History :

Guru Gobind Singh, the leader of the Sikhs in Punjab, had four sons. They were called Char Sahibzade Khalsa. In 1699, Gobind Singh established the Khalsa Panth. It was established with the aim of protecting the people of the Sikh community from religious persecution. Guru Gobind Singh had four sons from three wives: Ajit, Jujhar, Zorawar and Fateh, all of whom were part of the Khalsa. All four of them were executed by the Mughal army before the age of 19.
