Nicolás Maduro has been declared the winner of Venezuela’s presidential election by the National Electoral Council (CNE) on 29 July 2024. This will be his third term as Venezuela’s President.
The head of the Electoral Council, Elvis Amoroso, announced the results. With 80 percent of ballots counted, Maduro received 51 percent of the vote. His main rival received 44 percent of the vote. More than 21.6 million Venezuelans participated in the election. There were 10 presidential candidates in the election.
