WHO announced Sir Jeremy Farrar as its new chief scientist.

The WHO announced that Dr. Jeremy Farrar will be its new Chief Scientist. Dr Farrar, currently director of the Wellcome Trust, will join WHO in the 2nd quarter of 2023.
Dr Amelia Latu Afuhamango Tuipulotu will become WHO’s Chief Nursing Officer. Previously Minister of Health for the Kingdom of Tonga, and previously Tonga’s Chief Nursing Officer, Dr Tuipulotu will join WHO in the 1st quarter of 2023.
As WHO’s Chief Scientist, Dr Farrar will oversee the Science Division, bringing together the best minds in science and innovation from around the world and delivering high-quality health services to those who need them most, no matter where It doesn’t matter who they are and where they live.
