Women’s Equality Day 2022 is celebrated on 26th August 2022 all over the world to celebrate women empowerment and equality. Women’s Equality Day 2022 is dedicated to every woman who has dedicated her equal status in this society and to all the women who continue to fight for equality in the society. This day is always celebrated to remember how our society has evolved from not giving equality to men and women to celebrating a day for equality of women.

History :
On 26th August 1970, women around the world staged a women’s strike for equality. In 1971, New York Congresswoman Bella Abzug proposed that 26th August be declared Women’s Equality Day. Women’s Equality Day is celebrated in honor of the moment when Secretary of State Bainbridge Colby made a public announcement guaranteeing American women the right to vote under the nation’s constitution. The 1st formal declaration of Women’s Equality Day was made in the year 1972 on 26th August when former US President Richard Nixon issued Proclamation 4147.
