World AIDS Vaccine Day also known as HIV Vaccine Awareness Day is observed every year across the world on 18th May to create awareness & provide information about Acquired Immuno deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). which is a chronic, potentially life-threatening condition caused by the Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and its vaccination.

History :

World AIDS Vaccine Day was conceptualized by former United States President Bill Clinton’s speech on 18th May 1997 at Morgan State University, Maryland, United States of America (USA). World AIDS Vaccine Day or HIV Vaccine Awareness Day was 1st observed on 18th May 1998 as a commemoration of US President Bill Clinton’s 1997 declaration.
