World Alzheimer’s Day 2022 : 21st September

World Alzheimer’s Day is observed annually on 21st September to raise awareness about neurological disorders. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia and affects a person’s memory, mental ability, ability to perform simple tasks. On World Alzheimer’s Day, healthcare organizations support Alzheimer’s Walk while holding seminars and public activities in communities around the world to raise awareness on Alzheimer’s.

Theme :

In year 2022 the theme for World Alzheimer’s Month is “Know Dementia, know Alzheimer’s”.

History :

World Alzheimer’s Day was first observed on 21st September 1994 at the opening of the ADI’s annual conference in Edinburgh. The day was celebrated to mark the 10th anniversary of the organization, which was founded in 1984.
