World Chess Day is celebrated globally every year on 20th July. The day marks the date of the founding of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) in Paris in 1924. On this day we can observe the day by teaching someone or learning to play a game & we can consider a 24-hour marathon or share your story about your own chess strategy.

History
On 12 December 2019, the General Assembly declared 20 July as World Chess Day to mark the date of the founding of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) in Paris in 1924. The game of chess, once known as “Chaturanga”, is believed to have originated in India about 1500 years ago.
What is Chess Game?
In a chess game, two opponents are face to face and each consists of 16-16 pieces. These pieces include eight pawns, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, a queen and a king in each color. Their main objective is to capture the opponent’s king through a series of strategic moves.
