World Day for International Justice 2022 : 17th July

World Day for International Justice Day is celebrated every year on 17th July all over the world. International Criminal Justice Day is celebrated by honoring individuals who work to advocate for the fundamental human rights of victims affected by criminal acts. On this day the International Criminal Court (ICC) was formally established after the adoption of the Rome Statute.

The theme of the Day in 2022 is ‘Achieving Social Justice through Formal Employment’.

History :

17th July is celebrated as the World Day for International Justice as the day marks the anniversary of the adoption of the Rome Statute in 1998. With the help of this treaty, the International Criminal Court (ICC) was established. Since 1998, about 139 countries have signed the Treaty of Court and ratified by about 80 states, representing every region of the world.
