The world’s first 200 meter tall bamboo crash barrier has been installed on the Vani-Worora highway in Vidarbha, Maharashtra, a remarkable achievement towards achieving the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
This bamboo crash barrier named Bahu Balli was rigorously tested at various government institutes like National Automotive Test Tracks (NATRAX) at Pithampur, Indore.
It was rated Class 1 during the fire rating test conducted at the Central Building Research Institute (CBRI) in Roorkee. Additionally, it is also recognized by the Indian Road Congress.
The recycling value of bamboo barriers is 50-70 percent while that of steel barriers is 30-50 percent.
