The 12th edition of the India-Kyrgyzstan Joint Special Forces Exercise, KHANJAR-XII, commenced on 10 March 2025 in Kyrgyzstan and will run for 14 days until 23 March 2025. The exercise aims to exchange experiences and enhance cooperation in Counter-Terrorism and Special Forces Operations, focusing on urban and mountainous high-altitude terrains.
Key areas of focus include sniping, complex building interventions, and mountain craft to enhance the Special Forces’ skills. The exercise is also aimed at strengthening defense ties between the two nations while addressing shared concerns about international terrorism and extremism.
KHANJAR has been an annual event since 2011, alternating between India and Kyrgyzstan. The previous edition was held in India in January 2024.
