India’s foreign exchange reserves decline by $18.3 billion to $747.5 billion

The country’s foreign exchange reserves declined by 18.3 billion US dollars (USD) to 747.5 billion US dollars during the week ended the 25th of September on 2 October 2026.

  • According to Reserve Bank of India data, Foreign currency assets, the largest component of the reserves, dropped by 15.5 billion USD to 615.4 billion USD during the week.
  • Gold reserves dropped by 2.5 billion USD to 108.7 billion US dollars.
  • The country’s reserve position with the International Monetary Fund dipped by 86 million to 4.8 billion USD.
