Satwiksairaj-Chirag Clinch Maiden China Masters Title
In Badminton, Indian pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty clinched the men’s doubles title at the China Masters in Shenzhen today on 6 September 2026.
- The Indian duo defeated China’s He Ji Ting and Ren Xiang Yu 11-21, 21-13, 21-17 in the summit clash to secured India’s first-ever title at the China Masters.
- The victory marks the duo’s second title of the season.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, has announced the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awards (TNNAA) for the year 2024.
- The awards cover four categories — Land Adventure, Water Adventure, Air Adventure and Lifetime Achievement .
- The awards recognise outstanding achievements by individuals in the field of adventure and seek to promote a spirit of endurance, risk-taking, teamwork and quick and effective decision-making in challenging situations.
- The awardees will be conferred the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awards by the President of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan, along with the National Sports Awards 2025.
- The date of the award ceremony will be announced separately.

Satya Niketan building collapse: Amit Shah speaks to Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, top officials

- Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and other officials.
- In a post on X, he said, “Deeply distressed by the collapse of a building at Satya Niketan in Delhi.
- Spoke with the Chief Minister, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, and the Director General, NDRF, and assessed the situation on the ground.
- The local administration and the NDRF are conducting intensive rescue operations in close coordination.
IAF Sarang team reaches Egypt to participate in El Alamein Airshow
The Indian Air Force (IAF) Sarang Helicopter Display Team has reached Egypt to participate in the 2nd edition of the EI Alamein International Airshow on 6 September 2026.
- The Air Show is scheduled to be held from 08th to 10th of this month at EI Alamein International Airport.
- The Ministry of Defence said that the team will showcase precision, professionalism and flying skills through a series of meticulously choreographed displays.
- The Ministry added that this will mark another significant milestone in international engagements by the IAF reflecting growing defence and diplomatic ties between India and Egypt.
- The Ministry further stated that Sarang team will be flying the indigenously designed and manufactured Advanced Light Helicopter Dhruv.
