DRDO Successfully Tests Indigenous Quasi-Ballistic Missile ‘Pralay’

On 5 November 2026, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted a flight test of the indigenously developed ‘Pralay’ quasi-ballistic missile from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha.

  • The missile has been indigenously developed by the Research Centre Imarat in Hyderabad in collaboration with other DRDO laboratories.
  • Pralay is an indigenous, solid-fuel, surface-to-surface tactical missile with an estimated operational range of 150–500 km. Its quasi-ballistic trajectory allows it to manoeuvre during flight, making its path less predictable and interception more difficult.
