JANANI Platform Launched to Improve Maternal and Child Healthcare in India

The Union Health Ministry launched JANANI (Journey of Antenatal, Natal and Neonatal Integrated Care) to strengthen maternal and child healthcare in India on 7 May 2026. Developed as an upgraded version of the RCH portal, the digital platform helps track services like antenatal care, delivery, postnatal care, newborn care, immunization, and family planning.

JANANI features QR-enabled digital MCH cards, alerts for high-risk pregnancies, and integration with platforms like U-WIN and POSHAN. It supports registration through ABHA, Aadhaar, and mobile numbers to ensure continuity of care and better monitoring.

Till May 2026, the platform has recorded 1.34 crore beneficiary registrations and over 30 lakh pregnant women registrations.
