On 4 October 2026, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan handed over the first instalment for 3 lakh houses worth ₹3,600 crore to Andhra Pradesh under PMAY-G 2.0 and launched a pilot project using 3D concrete printing technology.
- PMAY-G 2.0: First instalment released for 3 lakh rural houses in Andhra Pradesh.
- Initial allocation: The proposed allocation was 76,000 houses, which was increased to 3 lakh following Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s request.
- 3D Concrete Printing: Foundation stone laid for India’s first pilot rural housing project using 3D concrete printing.
- Project Location: Burripalem and Obulnayudupalem.
- Project Cost: ₹14 crore.
- Houses: 177 houses to be constructed using advanced 3D printing technology.
- Completion: The project is expected to be completed within 6 months.
- Benefits: The technology is expected to reduce construction time, cost and labour requirements, while providing durable houses with a longer lifespan.
- Rural Infrastructure: The Centre will also support roads, drains and drinking water facilities in rural areas under the Vikasit Bharat-G RAM G scheme.
