The Government of India has appointed a new Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and three Members to the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis (NCSK) on 7 September 2026. The appointments will remain effective up to 31 March 2028, completing the remaining tenure of the present Commission.
- Chairperson: Shri Bhagwat Prasad Makwana
- Vice-Chairperson: Shri Kaishab Bihari
- Members: Shri Manoj Kumar Balmiki, Smt. Sushma Gaudiyal and Shri Ravi Ramu Kalose
- The new team brings experience in social welfare, public service, administration and academia.
- The appointments aim to strengthen the NCSK’s work for the rights, dignity and socio-economic welfare of Safai Karamcharis and other disadvantaged communities.
- The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment welcomed the appointments and expressed confidence in the new team.
