Hyderabad-based spacetech startup Cosmoserve Space inaugurated ‘Base 1’ in Hyderabad on 5 November 2026, India’s first private facility dedicated to Active Debris Removal (ADR) and in-orbit satellite servicing.
- It is the sixth facility globally equipped with specialized microgravity simulation and space vision effect technologies.
- Base 1 houses four specialized facilities: Orbital Rendezvous & Capture Lab, Space Robotics Innovation Lab, ISO Class 8 Clean Room, and Mission Simulation & Control Centre.
- It will support satellite repairs, refuelling and removal of space debris, aligning with India’s vision of achieving Debris-Free Space by 2030 and protecting future missions such as Gaganyaan and Bharatiya Antariksh Station.
