Flydubai co-pilot planned suicide attack on Tel Aviv airport, reveals UAE investigation

On 9 October 2026, The UAE’s investigations into the flydubai flight FZ1073 incident have revealed a premeditated terrorist plot by the aircraft’s Omani co-pilot.

  • The Attorney-General said that the 29-year-old suspect was carrying out a plan to seize control of the aircraft and use it to launch a suicide attack on the passenger terminal at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv.
  • He began carrying it out during his third flight to Tel Aviv on 30 September.
  • He was also inspired by the 9/11 attacks and as per his confession, his decision to pursue a career in aviation was linked to the idea of carrying out a similar attack.

India’s lighthouses, traditionally associated with maritime navigation and coastal safety, are taking on a wider role as the country develops them into tourism destinations, heritage centres and public spaces.

  • According to the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, 75 lighthouses have been developed as tourism destinations.
  • The number of visitors to lighthouse sites has increased from around four lakh in 2014 to 18.63 lakh in 2024–25, reflecting growing public interest in these historic structures.
  • The complex is set to include a 77-metre-high Lighthouse Museum, with an estimated project cost of ₹266.11 crore.

Northern Railway says all trains will run as per schedule today

Northern Railway has announced that all train services will operate as per their normal schedule 11 October 2026.

Railways had decided to cancel Mail and Express trains scheduled to arrive at New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations between 4 am and 2 pm yesterday.
