Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in New Delhi today to participate in the 18th BRICS Summit on 11 September 2026.
- Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh received him at the airport.
- During his visit, President Putin is scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and participate in a series of bilateral meetings.

- The prize distribution ceremony was held at the GMC Balayogi Auditorium in the Parliament Library Building, Parliament House Complex, New Delhi, on Thursday.
- Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju distributed shields, trophies and prizes to the winning teams.
- Rijiju congratulated the national winner and seven regional winners, and highlighted the importance of Parliament as a symbol of democracy.
- He said parliamentary democracy is well suited to India, where citizens govern themselves through elected representatives.

- Launched in 2020, PMMSY completes six years on September 10, 2026.
- With a total outlay of ₹20,750 crore, the scheme has sought to address critical gaps across the fisheries value chain, from production and aquaculture to post-harvest management, marketing and fisher welfare.
- The government has further reinforced its commitment by allocating a record ₹2,500 crore under PMMSY in Budget Estimates 2026–27.
- As of August 11, 2026, the Department of Fisheries had approved fisheries and aquaculture projects worth ₹21,394.88 crore, including a Central share of ₹9,510.89 crore, based on proposals from States, Union Territories and implementing agencies.
