18th BRICS Summit to begin in New Delhi | Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi India will host the 18th BRICS Summit at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Saturday and Sunday, bringing together leaders from BRICS member and partner countries, along with outreach invitees on 12 September 2026.
- India’s BRICS Chairship is guided by the theme, “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability”, reflecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a people-centric approach rooted in the spirit of “Humanity First”, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
- The leaders are expected to discuss ways to strengthen intra-BRICS cooperation on shared priorities and exchange views on global and regional issues of mutual interest.
- Under India’s Chairship, more than 350 meetings and high-level engagements have been held across over 25 cities to strengthen the BRICS strategic partnership across three key pillars — political and security; economic and financial; and cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
- Through these meetings, as well as business-to-business and people-to-people initiatives, India’s Chairship has sought to advance BRICS cooperation through practical and development-oriented outcomes, the MEA said.

Department of Land Resources to Launch Operational Guidelines for DILRMP 3.0; Set to Announce ₹565.50 Crore Digital Overhaul of Land Records
In a major step towards making land governance more transparent, accessible, and citizen-friendly, the Department of Land Resources , Ministry of Rural Development is set to officially launch the Operational Guidelines for the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP) 3.0 (2026–2031) on Thursday, 10 September 2026, at 6:30 PM.
- Building on the success of earlier phases that achieved near-complete computerization of land records across the country, the upcoming DILRMP 3.0 will roll out as a Central Sector Scheme with an anticipated financial outlay of Rs.
- The Department of Land Resources (DoLR) will implement this ambitious five-year roadmap across all States and Union Territories.
- The launch event will unveil the core vision of DILRMP 3.0, which shifts the focus from simple digital record-keeping to establishing a comprehensive, GIS-enabled “Land Stack.” This Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) will seamlessly integrate maps, land ownership details, property registration, and court cases into a single interoperable ecosystem.
- The soon-to-be-released guidelines will heavily emphasize “Ease of Living” and “Ease of Doing Business.” By promoting API-based secure integration, the program aims to eliminate the need for citizens to make repeated physical visits to government offices, paving the way for proactive and reliable citizen-centric services.
Every School, A Model School
Launched on 7 September 2022, the Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI) Scheme seeks to develop over 14,500 exemplar schools aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
- With a total outlay of ₹27,360 crore across 2022–23 to 2026–27 , the scheme strengthens infrastructure, pedagogy, inclusion, and sustainability, while equipping students with 21st-century skills.
- As of July 2026, 13,092 schools – around 90% of the target- have been selected across 36 States/UTs including schools under KVS, NVS, and NCERT.
- The schools are selected through a three-stage Challenge Mode based on defined quality benchmarks.
- Envisioned as mentor institutions for neighbouring schools, PM SHRI schools mark a shift from infrastructure-centric development towards holistic, equitable, and future-ready education.

Indore Metro Priority Corridor–2 Inaugurated
Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Shri Manohar Lal, in the presence of Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri Mohan Yadav, today inaugurated the Indore Metro Priority Corridor–2, marking a significant milestone in the city’s urban mobility journey on 11 September 2026.
- Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Shri Tokhan Sahu was also present on the occasion.
- The newly inaugurated phase-I (Reach-II) of approx 11 km comprising 11-stations starting from Super Corridor-3 to Malviya Nagar Chauraha and has been developed at an estimated cost of ₹2,850 crore.
- With this expansion, the Indore Metro network now comprises 16 operational stations covering approximately 17 km, with a cumulative project cost of about ₹4,370 crore.
- Speaking on the occasion, Shri Manohar Lal said that the Metro will provide citizens with a faster, safer, more comfortable and reliable mode of transport while strengthening connectivity between residential, commercial and employment centres.
