Nationwide ‘Khet Bachao Abhiyan-Rabi 2026’ Launched
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched the nationwide ‘Khet Bachao Abhiyan-Rabi 2026’ in Karnal, Haryana, on 22 October 2026.
- The nationwide campaign is scheduled to run from 22 October 2026 until 30 November 2026.
- The initiative is implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

Police Commemoration Day 2026 Observed at National Police Memorial
Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid homage to police martyrs and flagged off a nationwide motorcycle rally at the National Police Memorial in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, on 21 October 2026, on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day.
- The motorcycle rally comprises approximately 90 police riders representing various States, Union Territories, Central Armed Police Forces, and Central Police Organisations, who will converge at Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, for the Ekta Parade on October 31 as part of the ‘Fight Against Drugs’ initiative.
- Police Commemoration Day is observed annually on October 21 to mark the supreme sacrifice of 10 valiant policemen who died in an ambush by Chinese troops at Hot Springs, Ladakh, in 1959.
- As part of the commemorative events, Central Armed Police Forces and Central Police Organisations will organize programs at the National Police Memorial from October 22 to 30, including blood donation camps, family visits of martyrs, and Run for Martyrs.

During US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s two-day visit to Mumbai, India and the United States reaffirmed their commitment to the early conclusion of a Bilateral Trade Agreement on 21 October 2026.
- The bilateral talks were held between External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, with participation from Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor.
- Discussions during the visit specifically focused on advancing the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, covering defense cooperation, technology, energy security, and people-to-people ties.

Union Home Secretary Announces Preparations for Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2026
Union Home Secretary Shri Govind Mohan addressed a press conference in New Delhi on 21 October 2026 to brief media about the upcoming Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2026 and Bharat Parv 2026 celebrations scheduled at Ekta Nagar, Gujarat.
