Apple has undergone a major leadership transition. John Ternus became Apple’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective September 1, 2026, while Tim Cook became the company’s Executive Chairman. Apple had announced the leadership transition in April 2026.
Before becoming CEO, John Ternus served as Apple’s Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, leading hardware engineering for products including the iPhone, iPad, Mac and AirPods.
