Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred Slovakia’s highest state honour, the Order of the White Double Cross (1st Class), by Slovak President Peter Pellegrini in Bratislava on 15 June 2026.
The award is given to foreign leaders for their outstanding contribution to strengthening relations with Slovakia and supporting its foreign policy interests.
The visit was historic as it marked the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia since the country became independent in 1993. With this recognition, PM Modi has received 33 international honours and awards from foreign countries.
