The Meteorological Department announced on 2 November 2026 that the severe cyclonic storm ‘Murasu’ is set to cross the Andhra Pradesh coast between Nellore and Narasapur.
- At 8:30 am on 2 November 2026, the storm lay centred over the west-central Bay of Bengal, about 160 km east to southeast of Nellore.
- The weather system is expected to cross the coast with a wind speed of 100 to 110 kmph, gusting up to 120 kmph.
- Extremely heavy rainfall is forecasted at one or two places over Bapatla, Prakasam, Nellore, Chittoor, and Tirupati districts.
