Union Home Minister Amit Shah presented the prestigious President’s Colour to the Uttarakhand Police in Uttarakhand on 6 November 2026, making it the 16th police force in the country to receive this highest honour.
- The recognition was dedicated to 206 Uttarakhand Police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty over the past 25 years since the formation of the state.
- The Uttarakhand Police has grown from a strength of around 13,000 personnel to more than 26,000, and its motto is ‘Karm Satyam Shauryam’.
- Uttarakhand secured the top position nationally with a score of 93.46 on the CCTNS/ICJS 2.0 Dashboard through administrative restructuring and forensic integration.
