The CRPF was established on 27 July 1939 as the Crown Representative’s Police during British rule. After Independence, it was renamed the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) under the CRPF Act, 1949.
CRPF की स्थापना 27 जुलाई 1939 को ब्रिटिश शासन के दौरान क्राउन रिप्रेजेंटेटिव्स पुलिस (Crown Representative’s Police) के रूप में हुई थी। स्वतंत्रता के बाद CRPF अधिनियम, 1949 के तहत इसका नाम बदलकर केंद्रीय रिजर्व पुलिस बल (CRPF) रखा गया।
