Ganga Expressway: PM Modi Inaugurates 594 km Meerut–Prayagraj Highway
The Ganga Expressway is one of India’s largest greenfield expressway projects, developed in Uttar Pradesh to enhance high-speed connectivity and economic growth. Spanning approximately 594 km, it connects Meerut in western UP to Prayagraj in eastern UP, passing through 12 districts and significantly improving regional transport infrastructure.
The expressway was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 29 April 2026 in Hardoi district. It has been constructed at an estimated cost of around ₹36,000+ crore and is designed as a 6-lane access-controlled highway (expandable to 8 lanes).

- Travel Time: Reduced from 10–12 hours to about 6–7 hours
- Special Feature: Includes an airstrip for emergency aircraft landing
