India’s Nitya Sri Sumati won two gold medals after a stellar performance at Para-Badminton International Tournament 2023 in Sao Paul, Brazil.
Eighteen-year-old Nitya won the gold medal in the SH6 category by defeating Peru’s Giuliana Poveda Flores 22-20 21-11 in the women’s singles final.

She also won the gold medal in mixed doubles of the same category. Competitors with short stature take part in the ‘SH6 Category’.
Pramod Bhagat and Sukant Kadam won gold medals in men’s doubles. In singles, Pramod had to settle for silver and Sukant with bronze.
