On 20 November 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred with the Dominica Award of Honour, the highest national award of the Commonwealth of Dominica. President Sylvanie Burton presented the award in recognition of PM Modi’s contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic and his efforts to strengthen ties between India and Dominica.
PM Modi dedicated the award to the 140 crore people of India, highlighting their values and traditions. He emphasized the strong partnership between the two democracies and their role as models of women’s empowerment.
