National Technology Day is celebrated annually in India on 11 May to remember the significant achievements and contributions made by Indian scientists, engineers and technologists towards nation building. The day has immense historical and cultural significance, highlighting the country’s commitment to innovation and pursuit of technological advancement.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the program organized on the occasion of National Technology Day 2023 at Pragati Maidan on 11 May 2023 at 10:30 am. The event will also mark the beginning of the celebration of the 25th year of National Technology Day, which will be held from 11 to 14 May.

History :
National Technology Day marks India’s historic achievements in the field of science and technology. On 11 May, 1998, India successfully conducted its first nuclear test at Pokhran-II, codenamed Operation Shakti. The series of nuclear tests marked a major milestone in India’s technological prowess and demonstrated its capability to develop and deploy nuclear weapons.
