Papalpreet Singh, the main associate of radical preacher Amritpal Singh, has been arrested by Punjab Police from Kathunangal area of Amritsar on 10 April 2023.
- Papalpreet had been on the run along with Amritpal Singh, the chief of “Waris Punjab De” since 18 March 2023, after the police launched a crackdown on Khalistan sympathisers.
- Papalpreet Singh was wanted by the Punjab Police in six criminal cases.
- The accused has been detained under the National Security Act.
- Police teams were working on vital clues amidst the ongoing special operation.
- Further legal action will be taken in accordance with the law.
- The Inspector General of Police appealed to the people to continue maintaining peace and harmony in the state.
