- The third meeting of the Working Group on Transition to Energy Sources (ETWG) under the G20 chairmanship of India will be held in Mumbai from 15 to 17 May 2023.
- The three-day meeting will be attended by over 100 delegates from G20 member states, special invitees and international organizations such as the International Energy Agency (IEA), the World Bank and the World Energy Council.
- The six priority areas outlined under India’s chairmanship include (i) energy transition by addressing the technology gap (ii) low-cost financing for energy transition (iii) energy security and diversified supply chains (iv) Energy efficiency, transition from industries to low carbon emissions and responsible consumption (v) Fuels for the future (3F) and (vi) Universal access to clean energy and equitable, affordable and inclusive solutions to transition to energy sources.
- India’s G20 presidency will build on the efforts and outcomes of previous presidencies that have successfully advanced global cooperation to shift to clean energy sources and make it central to the agenda for sustainable economic growth.
