The biggest FIFA Women’s Football World Cup has commenced in New Zealand and Australia on 20 July 2023.

- Australia and New Zealand are jointly hosting the ninth edition of the Women’s World Cup, with 32 nations participating, including defending champions, the US.
- This is the first Women’s World Cup with two co-hosts.
- The tournament follows a traditional group stage-knockout format, with eight groups of four teams each during the group stage.
- Seven nations, including the Republic of Ireland, are making their debuts at this World Cup, along with Vietnam, Zambia, Haiti, Morocco, Panama, the Philippines, and Portugal.
- The final will be held at the Sydney Olympic Stadium on the 20 August 2023.
