Stealth destroyer, ‘IMPHAL’ was handed over to the Indian Navy by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited

The third stealth destroyer, ‘IMPHAL,’ of Project 15B Class Guided Missile Destroyer was handed over to the Indian Navy by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited in Mumbai on October 20, 2023.

  1. ‘IMPHAL’ is constructed using Indigenous Steel DMR 249A and has an overall length of 164 meters with a displacement of over 7,500 tons.
  2. It is one of the largest destroyers built in India and is a versatile platform capable of handling various maritime warfare tasks and missions.
  3. The destroyer can accommodate a crew of 312 people and has an endurance of 4,000 nautical miles, allowing it to carry out a typical 42-day mission with the possibility of extended mission time in out-of-area operations.
