The first edition of the Khelo India Beach Games (KIBG) was inaugurated on May 19, 2025, at Ghoghla Beach in Diu by Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya. The colorful opening ceremony showcased India’s cultural diversity through traditional dance performances.
Over 1,350 athletes from more than 30 states and Union Territories are participating in the Games, competing in six medal events:
- Football
- Volleyball
- Sepaktakraw
- Kabaddi
- Pencak Silat
- Open Water Swimming
Additionally, Mallakhamb and Tug-of-War will be featured as non-medal demonstration sports.
