Swachh Bharat Diwas 2024 celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Mission on October 2, 2024, a nationwide cleanliness initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014.
The theme for the event was “Swabhav Swachhata, Sanskaar Swachhata” (Natural Cleanliness, Cultural Cleanliness), focusing on integrating cleanliness into daily life and culture.
The event marked the culmination of the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) campaign, which ran from September 17 to October 2, 2024, encouraging public participation and improving sanitation workers’ welfare. PM Modi, at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, launched projects worth ₹9,600 crore, including initiatives under AMRUT and the National Mission for Clean Ganga.
