The inauguration of Seva Teerth and Kartavya Bhavan 1 & 2 on 13th February 2026 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a historic milestone in India’s governance and administrative architecture.
🏛 Significance of Seva Teerth
- New Prime Minister’s Office (PMO): Seva Teerth is now the official address of the PMO, moving from the colonial-era South Block for the first time since Independence.
- Integrated Governance Hub: It also houses the National Security Council Secretariat and the Cabinet Secretariat, bringing key decision-making bodies under one roof.
- Symbolism: The name Seva Teerth reflects the spirit of service (Seva) as the soul of India. The walls bear the motto “Nagriko Devo Bhava” (Citizens akin to God), emphasizing citizen-centric governance.
