World Environment Day is observed on 5th June every year, led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), is the largest global platform for environmental awareness, celebrated annually since 1973 by millions worldwide.
In 2025, the event will be hosted by the Republic of Korea with the theme focused on ending plastic pollution. This initiative aligns with key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as climate action, sustainable consumption, ocean protection, and biodiversity conservation.
