The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 19 June 2024, approved an increase in the Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for all mandated Kharif crops for the Marketing Season 2024-25.
The MSP increase aims to ensure remunerative prices for growers. The highest absolute MSP increases are for nigerseed (Rs. 983 per quintal), sesamum (Rs. 632 per quintal), and tur/arhar (Rs. 550 per quintal). The Paddy (Common) has been fixed Rs. 2300 per quintal, increase of Rs 117 from the Rs 2183 in Season 2023-24.
