India’s leading cooperatives, Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) and Amul, have been ranked as the top cooperatives globally based on GDP per capita performance in the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) World Cooperative Monitor 2025, announced at the ICA CM50 Conference in Doha, Qatar.
The recognition highlights Amul’s dairy cooperative model, which has strengthened rural self-reliance and improved millions of farmers’ livelihoods, showcasing India’s leadership in food security and agribusiness.
IFFCO was praised for its sustainable fertiliser production, digital innovation, and commitment to environmental stewardship. By reinvesting profits in community welfare and green initiatives, IFFCO continues to set a global benchmark for cooperative excellence.
