Indian Navy Commissions India’s first Indigenous Anti-Submarine Warfare Vessel ‘INS Mahe’

On 24 November 2025, the Indian Navy commissioned INS Mahe, the first vessel of the Mahe-class Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft, at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai. Built by Cochin Shipyard Limited, the vessel has over 80% indigenous content under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative. The ship will operate as a “Silent Hunter” on the Western Seaboard to strengthen coastal security.

Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi attended the ceremony as chief guest and highlighted the importance of jointness and synergy among the armed forces for national security.

  • CRPF Raising Day 2025 : July 27

    CRPF Raising Day is observed annually on July 27 to commemorate the founding of India’s largest paramilitary force, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). In 2025, India celebrated the 87th Raising Day.

    CRPF was established in 1939 in Nimach, Madhya Pradesh, and renamed in 1949 under the guidance of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The force plays a key role in internal security, anti-Naxal operations, disaster response, election duty, and UN peacekeeping.

    With over 3.25 lakh personnel, CRPF continues to uphold its motto: “Service and Loyalty.”

  • Income Tax Return Filing Due Date Extended to 15th September 2025

    On 27 May 2025, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) announced an extension of the deadline for filing Income Tax Returns (ITRs) for the financial year. The new deadline is now 15th September 2025, extended from the earlier 31st July.

    This decision was made to accommodate significant revisions in ITR forms, system upgrades, and issues related to TDS credit reflection. The CBDT stated that the extension aims to ensure a smoother and more accurate filing process and address stakeholder concerns effectively.

    The United States has officially designated The Resistance Front (TRF) — a proxy of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) — as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) and Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT).
