Indore Declared India’s Cleanest City for 8th Time in a Row

At the Swachh Survekshan 2024–25 Awards held on 17 July 2025, Indore was once again crowned India’s cleanest city, marking its eighth consecutive win. Surat and Navi Mumbai followed in second and third positions, respectively.

President Droupadi Murmu conferred the awards at a ceremony in New Delhi, highlighting cleanliness as a key element of the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision and India’s cultural values.

  • A total of 78 awards were distributed across four categories, including:
    • Super Swachh League Cities
    • Top three cleanest cities in five different population categories
