NorthEast United FC (NEUFC) retained the Durand Cup title with a 6–1 win over debutants Diamond Harbour FC (DHFC) on 23 August 2025 at Kolkata’s Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan.
- NEUFC became the first team in 34 years to defend the Durand Cup, a feat last achieved by East Bengal (1989–1991).
- Six different NEUFC players scored, with Alaaeddine Ajaraie contributing 3 assists and a stoppage-time penalty.
- DHFC’s lone goal came via Jobby Justin (68’, deflected header).
