PSLV-C62 Mission Launched: DRDO’s Anvesha Satellite & 15 Co-Payloads in Orbit

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched the PSLV-C62 / EOS-N1 mission at 10:17 AM on 12 January 2026 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota. This marks the 64th flight of the PSLV, India’s most trusted and versatile launch vehicle.

The mission, executed by NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), is the ninth dedicated commercial launch carrying an Earth Observation satellite. The primary payload, EOS-N1 (Anvesha), developed by DRDO, is a strategic satellite capable of high-precision imaging for accurate mapping of enemy positions.

The rocket also deployed 15 co-passenger satellites belonging to Indian and international clients. Notably, this mission is historic for India’s private space sector, with Dhruva Space (Hyderabad) becoming the first single Indian private company to contribute seven satellites in one mission.

Overall, the launch reflects India’s expanding capabilities in strategic imaging, commercial satellite deployment, and private sector participation in space missions.
