Claudia Sheinbaum elected as the first woman President of Mexico

Claudia Sheinbaum has been elected as the first woman President of Mexico. She is also the first President of Jewish heritage in Mexico.

    Sheinbaum received nearly 58% of the vote, according to preliminary results.

      Her opponent, Xochitl Galvez, backed by a coalition of the National Action (PAN), Institutional Revolutionary (PRI), and Democratic Revolution (PRD) parties, received between 26.6% and 28.6% of the votes.
