Manipur’s T.G. English School won the Junior Boys title of the 63rd Subroto Cup, defeating Meghalaya’s Myngken Christian Higher Secondary School 4-3 in a sudden-death tiebreaker. The final, held at BR Ambedkar Stadium, New Delhi, on 11 September 2024, ended 1-1 in regulation time.
Manipur’s Namdigong Kamei scored in the 32nd minute, while Meghalaya’s Banpliebok Khongjoh equalized with a penalty in the 64th minute. In the tiebreaker, Meghalaya missed a key spot-kick, giving Manipur the victory. It was the first time in 44 years that a team from Manipur won the Subroto Cup. Despite playing with 10 men for 20 minutes, Manipur secured the title.
